State, regents, UI must go forward

While the various University of Iowa no-confidence votes in the Iowa state Board of Regents are postponed for now, we still are in the midst of a very, very messy impasse in the search for the next UI president ("No confidence vote off for now," Nov. 29).

We've said that regents President Michael Gartner must go, and a closed-door meeting with the governor, putting off of the no-confidence vote and other events of this week have done nothing to change our minds.

We don't see how UI can move forward with the current set of players.
