The meeting is open to the public. Agenda items include a listing of groups the committee would like to interact with, developing a message for the UI community and for candidates, developing a timeline and task list and discussion on committee procedures.
This is the second committee to attempt to find a replacement for David Skorton, who announced more than a year ago he was leaving to become Cornell University president. A seven-month, $216,000 initial search stalled Nov. 17 after being mired in secrecy and controversy. Six regents voted down four finalists and disbanded the search committee.
The 13-person second committee kicked off with the naming of College of Dentistry Dean David Johnsen on Dec. 18, and final appointments occurred Jan. 11.
