Despite continued concerns from its critics, the Riverside Casino opened Thursday to a flutter of oohs and aahs. The opening day showed every indication that the casino will annually attract the estimated 1.6 million visitors and more than $80 million. Because the economies of Riverside and Washington County are now gambling on the casino, we wish the enterprise success -- but not to the detriment of individual Johnson and Linn county residents who will provide much of the revenue.
