The Superintendent Search

The Iowa City Community School District conducted a search for a new superintendent during the summer of 1999. The board selected Dr. Lane Plugge, formerly superintendent in Grand Island, Nebraska. Dr. Plugge began work August 16, 1999. During the first ten days of May citizens had an opportunity to participate in a "community audit" conducted by the search firm, The Bickert Group. Although the time for that opportunity has past, the community survey and its embodiment in the Bickert Group's "Superintendent Search Profile Report" of May 11, 1998, remains a valuable document. Also available is a Web site created at that time that was designed to encourage citizen participation in the search process.

(Note: Because the individualized HotBot search feature searches only domains, not pages, the following had to be structured to search the entirety of http://soli.inav.net; however, by beginning the search string with "Nicholas Johnson" (as already inserted) it will only find pages that contain "Nicholas" plus "Johnson" plus whatever search terms you put in. This will narrow, and thereby speed, your search. I wish to acknowledge, and thank, Internet Navigator's Webmaster Daniel Garcia for the creativity of this solution. -- N.J.)
