Re: Feedback on Asian Country Identification Exercise

The first evening, January 15, we passed around outline maps with numbered Asian countries and asked you to correctly identify as many as you could. As indicated at the time, the exercise was not to be graded.

Ken Limore has, however, pulled some numbers together for us which may be of interest to you.

Bottom line on the results, as many of us knew about ourselves before we did the exercise, is that we all have a lot to learn about this part of the world that has some of the fastest growing economies and greatest potential future markets for your future clients. We can start by learning the names and locations of the countries.

Of the countries correctly identified, here are the totals on the number of correct hits from the class as a whole (14 students participating). First, by country:

14 India

14 China

11 Japan

9 North Korea

9 South Korea

8 Pakistan

8 Mongolia

6 Taiwan

5 Philippines

5 Sri Lankn

5 Vietnam

4 Indonesia

4 Nepal

2 Cambodia

2 Papua New Guinea

2 Malaysia

1 Laos

1 Bangladesh

0 Bhutan

0 Burma

0 Thailand

0 Hong Kong

0 Singapore

Now, number of associates identifying a given number of countries. Maximum possible would have been 14 associates getting all 23 of the 23 countries numbered. Of those 14 and 23:

2 associates identified 15 correctly,

1 got 11

1 got 10

3 got 8

1 got 7

2 got 6

2 got 5

2 got 3
