CLS98 - Trip Postponed
Although it will have little to no impact whatsoever on what we have scheduled for the CLS98 sessions, I thought you might want to know that my January trip to the Former Soviet Union has been postponed.
(The future date is uncertain; probably some time in February or March; I won't be stunned if it ends up being next fall. What happened was that at the 11th hour the chair of the Georgia Parliament's media law subcommittee was suddenly presented with _nine_ additional drafts of the law! He concluded -- wisely in my judgment -- that they should get their political house in order and try to produce some consensus before bringing in the legislative drafters.)
As I say, nothing's changed. As previously announced, we'll meet Wednesday evening, 6:30 January 14, at the "Information Arcade" in the UI Main Library (not BLB 125), for our first introduction to the Internet with tour guide and professional surfer Karla Tonella. The only difference is that I'll be there, too, to provide additional one-on-one instruction during the evening session.
