LAW OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA1

Assignments -- Book -- Room -- Time

1. The reading assignment for the first class is pp. 745-7902 in

2. The casebook, which is: Carter, Franklin and Wright, The First Amendment and the Fifth Estate (4th ed. 1996).3

3. Room 125 (the courtroom) is where we meet

4. 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, starting August 27, 19974

1. Because the format of this class, and the companion "Cyberspace Law Seminar," change from semester to semester, you should know that this class, this semester, will (for the most part) follow a more traditional format of casebook discussion rather than paper writing and presentations.

2. For a change of pace, we will be opening the semester with an evening of solid, substantive material (on "privacy"), and wait to provide the "introduction" to the class until the second class session.

3. There is no supplement. The bookstore has the books. As of August 22, 9:00 a.m., it still had 13 copies.

4. The Placement Office informs me there need be no conflict for those of you who wish to attend its session Wednesday evening as there is a repeat Thursday evening which you can attend instead.
