Nicholas Johnson News Stories: 1996

Note: This page lists citations (only; no links to full text) to news stories mentioning former F.C.C. Commissioner Nicholas Johnson (as distinguished from op-ed and other pieces written by him) during calendar year 1996. They are listed in reverse chronological order (most recent first). The source was a simple search of Lexis (NEWS;CURNWS) for "Nicholas Johnson." This limits the return to U.S. publications. (The list does not include, for example, interviews in Santiago, Chile, newspapers during Johnson's 1996 trip there.) "Former F.C.C. Commissioner" is mentioned because there are, of course, hundreds of Nicholas Johnsons, dozens of whom make the news. One (who is most often cited) is literally a rocket scientist. Others are mimes, actors and dancers, athletes of various abilities, business people, and so forth. Some make the news for having made the class honor roll, others for being arrested -- or dying. These cites are only to 1996 stories quoting, or otherwise making reference to, the Nicholas Johnson who was formerly an F.C.C. Commissioner.
