Iowa's future depends on advanced agricultural, energy and manufacturing production based around our universities and community colleges. Call it the Education Industrial Complex.

Research and development of renewable fuels, such as nuclear fusion, solar and wind power, and energy derived from crops, such as corn, beans and hemp, should form the cornerstone of scientific inquiry.

New parks, tree farms and flower gardens would be better economic investments than a rain forest. Iowa-centric, modest projects would add value to any community and would need only break even to be successful.

Such tourist attractions could double as advocacy and education centers for statewide initiatives.
