1. www.aclu.org: American Civil Liberties’ Freedom Network has many legal features but also covers general social justice issues such as racial and gender equality. This page also invites readers to join the ACLU’s efforts and provides activist alerts on specific topics.
2. www.lcweb.loc.gov: The U.S. Library of Congress offers just about everything and great direct links to other U.S. government sites.
3. www.aawc.com/aawc/html: The African American Web Connection provides thousands of great links that can be of interest to people of all races and backgrounds.
4. www.eb.com: It’s good to see the classic American research tool online and caught up with the times (I haven’t heard the salesperson knock on our door in ages).
5. www.unicc.org: The United Nations global focus is easy to see in
this page’s worldwide links and network.
B. Mega Legal Research Sites
1. www.westlaw.com: The legal publisher’s site is huge and very helpful on every topic imaginable.
2. www.lexis.com: The other legal publisher’s site is a lot like its competitor’s, huge and helpful.
3. www.law.cornell.edu/uscode: Wonderful online way to search the most up-to-date U.S. Code.
4. www.findlaw.com: This site is well-indexed and easy to jump right into.
5. www.lawcrawler.com: Great starting place for web legal research.
C. Sites Specializing in Cyberspace Law Issues
1. www.aclu.org/issues/cyber/hmcl.html: The ACLU’s Cyber-Liberties page has updates and references to educate readers and encourage them to become involved in the debate surrounding civil liberties in cyberspace.
2. www.ucla.edu/iclp/hp.html: University of California at Los Angelos has created this Online Institute for Cyberspace Law and Policy to foster discussion and scholarship on cyberspace law issues.
3. www.abanet.org/buslaw/cyber: The American Bar Association cyberspace law site is almost more of an ABA subcommittee minute log than a research site, but it is a good introduction to what the profession’s umbrella organization is up to.
4. www.cdt.org: The Center for Democracy and Technology’s page is an excellent primer on internet law and various issues related thereto.
5. www.cyberlaw.com: This is a good jumping-off point for general cyberlaw
research.

2. www.law.vill.edu/chron/articles/wandm.htm: Francis Perritt’s site devoted to equity issues is a good introduction to issues relating to access to the internet.
3. www.cdt.org/speech: The Center for Democracy and Technology has myriad resources on freedom of speech in cyberspace.
4. www.oneworld.org/index: Censorship issues are discussed and links to other free expression-focused sites are provided here.
